Ok, so now I realised I find it difficult to model these things if I don't sketch them out first. Then render. Then colour them and detail them. Which has wasted a lot of time, but otherwise I'd only be stuck when it really matters. So here's the second batch of concepts that I'll be modelling, god help me when I get to the portal. Now to do a vehicle.
I like this. It's creative, well executed and imaginative. Good use of colour and lighting and best of all it's- 'chunky'. I like 'chunky' a lot. Oh , yes, and it's not on a muddy brown parchment, which makes it even better Hurrah! Love the debris following concept.
And yay for chunkiness! Gives models more substance. The UV mapping is taking forever though, and I still haven't started the vehicle or the textures yet.
Awesome, it's great to see more of your concepts. I really like your gritty style, mixing the mechanical and natural elements together, it works well! Perhaps to help you with modelling it will be useful to do a quick sketch of it from a 3/4 and side perspective - it doesn't necessarily have to be a perfectly accurate model sheet but sometimes a doodle of diffent angles can help to speed up the process in 3D. Goodluck with it!
Thanks for the fave Jack ha yeah, I did try a 3/4 perspective originally, but everything went wrong. I'll probably do a quick sketch before I start modelling this evening though. Thank you, I need all the luck I can get!
My pleasure Hannah Ah, 3/4 can be a pain in the rear, but definitely something to master! I really like your rendering one this one and the vehicle, very impressed Goodluck! Will be interesting to see how they turn out ^_^
