Cooool stuff Hannah, i like the style that you've got going for your characters it works really well. Is this the type of style you'll be using for your graphic novel? Your getting better at painting the planes of the face, this one looks much more 3D because of it :) I really like the choice of colours and the edge control too. It's great what you can do when trying to avoid doing 3D isn't it? xD

Thank you Jack! :aww: I haven't decided whether this kind of style is what I'll use for the graphic novel, but I guess since it keeps cropping up...it'll likely be the basis for it for sure. :meow: Ahh thanks, I used a tutorial on this site, was very useful for shading the face [link] . Hehe, I couldn't avoid 3D for long though, was told to try and 3D one of my props once I got caught :XD: this was still a pretty good exercise though.

Your welcome Hannah :) That's true, it's probably best to stick with what you are most comfortable with since it's going to be a lot of drawing, but could also be a good chance to experiment first. Ahh Daarken, that guys such a boss - you should check out his free male and female anatomy videos on youtube if you haven't yet, i don't think they are narrated but the way he paints the forms is really informative. Hehe, good to hear that they keep at you about that sort've stuff, nice to receive a kick up the rear now and then xD I'm still waiting for a reply from the 'admissions tutor' at UCLAN, i can't wait to have an interview, i'm so impatient ahah. :D

I have tried semi-realism, but I think it'll end up being too messy for a comic and I probs wouldn't be happy with it in the end. I don't mind sticking with this style and improving it, but I do try all sorts of other styles as well when I can. :)
Ahhh I haven't seen his youtube vids, will take a look today if I can! :aww: and yeah, they really keep on top of it, they particularly don't like it when you're on facebook either :D and awwww, good luck and tell me when they reply - I wanna know who you have your interview with! :)

That sounds goood to me, i'm not that fond of realism in graphic novels, unless it's done really well. I agree about it being harder to be happy about it aswell, some styles are just easier to be happy with the result, but realism has to be spot on otherwise it just doesn't look right, which is never good for the stress levels xD Ah that's awesome, how about DA? your technically researching.. ;p Thanks Hannah! I'll keep you informed :) I'm hoping to get replies soon so that i can get an interview asap, if they don't get back to me by monday i might see if i can phone straight to the course tutor or something :)
